Shoe History Pt 2

Adidas was brought to life in Germany 1924 through the creative minds of the Dassler brothers. The signature three stripes were initially designed for foot support but soon became the company's logo. The Adidas shoe made a name for itself during the 1928 Summer Olympics and was taken to another level during the early 1980's when the hip-hop group Run-D.M.C released the hit song about the popular shoe entitled "My Adidas." The trio rap group rocked the kicks without laces and the tongue outside the shoe as a way of refusing to conform to pop standards and instead embrace street wear. Run-D.M.C increased Adidas' sales and was the first hip-hop artist/group to sign an advertisement deal with a major corporation. Since the 80's Adidas-Run-D.M.C era, Adidas foot wear became a popular component to youth fashion and as of today, is worn as casual footwear.

Below is a photo of the famous shoe "Superstar" that hip-hop group Run-D.M.C made famous in their hit song "My Adidas." I remember rocking my Superstar 2 by dressing them up with a jean-skirt or cool and casual with my green Adidas sports jacket. What personal style did you create by rocking a pair of retro-Adidas?
